The objective of this project is to support nations in developing a CDSA capability. In this projecjt, we will: identify requirements and use cases; hold a CDSA solutions conference to assess the market against selected CDSA use cases; demonstrate one or more solutions executing the selected use cases in a high-fidelity environment; and, optionally assist nations in the procurement, deployment, and acceptance testing of the solution in national environments. The purpose of the demonstrations is to verify the degree to which the slected solutions would meet operational scenarios. As a minimum, one of the demonstrated CDSA software solutions will be freely deployable for operational use. For all demonstration, the aim if for the delivered demonstration system to be available for further testing for at least one year.
Modern militaries rely on communications and information systems (CIS) to perform every aspect of operational and planning activities. omc;idomg providing command and control (C2) and accessing key strategic resources. Understanding the state of the CIS, its vulnerabilities, and its exact contribution to operations, has become mission-critical. Commanders and supporting staff require Cyber Defence Situational Awareness (CDSA) to manage and defend the networks in support of operations. The concept of situational awareness is relevant to all levels of an organization, from the technical analyst to the senior management levels. For the purpose of this project, the emphasis will focus on the needs at the operational and senior management levels, and will not include the deep technical analysis level. The processed results coming from the existing national technical analysis work will be take as input ot the CDSA capability and incorporated as required into views generated for the operational and senior management levels.
